Senior Journalist Riazuddin is no more

Riazuddin Ahmed, the editor of The Financial Herald, a senior journalist who won the Ekushey Padak, has died (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilahi Raziun).

He died at United Hospital in the capital around 2 pm on Saturday (December 25). He was 76 years old.

National Press Club President Farida Yasmin confirmed the information to the media.

Riazuddin Ahmed was the founder and editor of The Financial Express and The News Today. He was also the four-time elected president of the National Press Club and secretary of the undivided Dhaka Journalists Union and president of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists. Riazuddin Ahmed was awarded the Ekushey Padak in 1993 for his glorious contribution to journalism.
