‘Independence of Bangladesh bought at a very high price’

Although the word 'freedom' is popular, it is not easy to achieve it. Bangladesh is one of the few countries in the world that has become independent by fighting. The victory of Bengal was achieved in return for many sacrifices. This victory has been achieved in exchange of many sacrifices, blood, pain of losing relatives and sacrifice of women. There is a collection of events, personal emotions and multidimensional events. Today I will describe one of the incidents.

On the winter morning of December 13, 1971, Selina Parveen was anointing her youngest son Sumon Zahid to take a bath. They were cooking on the stove and the Pak Hanadar force appeared at the door. Those barbaric evils did not even allow her to change the saree. At that moment, before going, the mother turned her hand on her son Sumon's head and said only that, Sumon, you eat with Mama. I will go and come back soon. But she never came back.

After the independence of the country, the body of the girl was found in the crowd of many bodies. A part of the girl's breasts were cut, the blood was reddened and the whole body was wet! The blindfolded corpse of the girl was lying at the foot of the mound of earth! The girl's nose and face have no shape, they stabbed her with a weapon! Do you know who that girl is? That mother-journalist Selina Parveen. The mother could no longer keep her word to her son, and did not return to little Sumon Zahid; that martyred child Sumon Zahid waited for his mother till death. It is a matter of great regret that the decapitated body of Sumon Zahid, the son of martyred journalist Selina Parveen was found on 14th June 2018 near the railway line of the capital! Sumon Zahid was a witness for the International Criminal Tribunal. What a horror!
