Month-long trade fair started today

The Dhaka International Trade Fair is starting today, January 1. The month-long fair will be held at the newly constructed Bangabandhu Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Center in Purbachal. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the fair via video conference from Ganobhaban.

On the occasion of the trade fair, the Export Development Bureau organized a press conference at the exhibition center of the fair on Friday afternoon. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi was present as the chief guest.

It was informed at the press conference that a total of 23 pavilions, 27 mini pavilions, 162 stalls, and 15 food stalls of different categories have been allotted to different domestic and foreign organizations in the trade fair.

All the stalls are allotted in two halls of 14,366 square meters (about 1,55,000 square feet) of the air-conditioned exhibition center with state-of-the-art facilities. Outside the fair complex (front and back) pavilions, mini pavilions, and food stalls have been constructed.

The month-long fair will start at 10 am and will continue till 9 pm. On weekends it will run until 10 p.m. The entrance fee for the fair is 40 Tk for adults and 20 Tk for children. The fair will showcase indigenous textiles, machinery, carpets, cosmetics and beauty aids, electrical and electronics, furniture, jute and jute products, home appliances, leather goods including leather and footwear, sports goods, sanitary ware, sportswear, sanitary ware, toys, Herbal & Toiletries, Imitation Jewelry, Processed Food, Handicraft Products, Home Decor, etc.
