Corruption is like cancer: Chief Justice

Newly-appointed Chief Justice Hasan Fayez Siddiqui has said that corruption is like cancer. I will not compromise on corruption.

He made the remarks at a reception given to the newly-appointed Chief Justice of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court by the Supreme Court Bar Association and the Attorney General on Sunday (January 2).

Justice Hasan Fayez Siddiqui said, "Whoever commits corruption, even if he is my officer-employee, he will not be given exemption."

He said that if there is cancer in your finger, it has to be cut off and so is corruption.

At that time, he talked about reducing case clutter, eliminating corruption from the judiciary, working in coordination between the bar and the bench.

Apart from the Attorney General, Barrister Mohammad Ruhul Quddus Kajal also addressed the reception of the newly appointed Chief Justice.
