Our Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen often writes. But his
different books give rise to controversy at different times. It is often
alleged that he distorted the history of the war of liberation, independence,
and the history of Bangabandhu. He even wrote in a book that he went to the
round table meeting with Bangabandhu which caused controversy in the country
and abroad. Recently, a new controversy has arisen over his book 'Bangabandhu
and Bangladesh'.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that Ziaur Rahman did not
wage liberation war. In the current study of the liberation war, some documents
have come out, it is also seen that General Beg wrote a letter to Ziaur Rahman.
In the letter, he praised him for his work. It is also being said on behalf of
the Awami League that Ziaur Rahman was a spy of Pakistan. Apart from this,
various questions have been raised about the role of Ziaur Rahman in exploring
the history of the liberation war of 1971 and for this Jamuka has taken
initiative to cancel the title of Bir Uttam of Ziaur Rahman.
In such a situation, the Foreign Minister of the government
AK Abdul Momen wrote in his book 'Bangabandhu and Bangladesh' that 'Major Ziaur
Rahman must be a prominent freedom fighter - the head of Z Force. Like other
army heroes, his contribution to the war of liberation is especially memorable.
We are saddened by his brutal death.' Apart from that, there are also many
topics in the book that have raised controversy.
