Corona (Kovid-19) infection is on the rise in the country.
Besides, like other countries, a new variant, Omicron is spreading in
Bangladesh. The government is thinking of closing down educational institutions
to prevent this spread.
Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni will hold a virtual meeting
with the Covid-19 National Technical Advisory Committee on Sunday (January 9)
at 10 pm to take a decision on the issue. From this meeting, a decision may be
taken to close the educational institution again.
After the meeting, the education minister will inform about
the overall issue in a press conference on Monday. Education Ministry's public
relations officer MA Khair told this to the media on Saturday night.
An official of the Ministry of Education told the media that
due to the increase in corona infection in Bangladesh, there are plans to close
educational institutions again. If the National Advisory Committee agrees, the
educational institution may be declared closed for the next one month. The
education minister will give a briefing on Monday to highlight those decisions.
