Winners of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Marathon

The Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Dhaka Marathon has been held with the participation of about 200 local and foreign competitors including 30 elite runners. The competition has been held in several categories. Al Amin became the first among the Half marathon Bangladeshi men. Second and third place went to Sohail Rana and Al Amin respectively.

In the half marathon Bangladeshi women's event, Shamsun Nahar Ratna came first, Libya Akhter and Nasreen Begum came second and third respectively. Well known athlete Sushmita Ghosh has become the fourth.

In the marathon Bangladeshi men's category, Asif Biswas came first with a time of 2 hours 35 minutes 12 seconds, Farid Mia came second with a time of 2 hours 40 minutes 4 seconds and Kamrul Hasan came third with a time of 2 hours 41 minutes 44 seconds.

In the marathon Bangladeshi women's category, Papia Khatun came first with 3 hours 39 minutes and 50 seconds, Nargis Jahan came second with 4 hours 21 minutes and Sultana Khatun came third with 4 hours 22 minutes.

In the marathon SAAF men's category, India's Srinu became the first with a time of 2 hours 16 minutes 26 seconds. India's Arjun and Beliappa came second and third in this event.

Kenya's Vicent was first in the International Elite Men's Marathon with a time of 2 hours 9 minutes 29 seconds. Omar of Morocco finished second and Abraha from Ethiopia came third in the event.

Muliye of Ethiopia finished first in the International Elite Women's Marathon with a time of 2 hours 31 minutes and 39 seconds. Morocco's Saud came second and Kenya's Helen came third in the event.

In the Men's Half Marathon International, Kenya's Kilmo finished first with a time of 1 hour 4 minutes 7 seconds. Bahrain's Zaki was second with a time of 1 hour 5 minutes 47 seconds and Slovakia Bamusa was third with a time of 1 hour 6 minutes. Soukania of France became the first in the women's half marathon international category.
