BNP stage broke down during speech in Chittagong

During the speech of the chief guest at a rally organized by Chittagong South District BNP demanding release of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and her treatment abroad, many people were injured when the stage suddenly collapsed. Leaders and activists of the injured evacuated from the spot.

The incident took place at a meeting held at the CDA residential area of Karnafuli police station on Wednesday (January 12).

BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury was present as the chief guest at the rally organized by Chittagong South District BNP. This unfortunate incident happened while he was speaking. However, he did not stop speaking.

At one point in his speech, Amir Khasru said that today's rally in the southern district has broken the dam of the government fall movement. Nothing can stop the people. The gathering stage may break but the movement will not stop, it will continue.

Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury further said, the day of section 144 is over. The days of public meetings have come to an end with the permission of various stages. The people of the country are united today.

The meeting was chaired by Chittagong South District BNP convener Abu Sufian and addressed by BNP chairperson's advisor Zainul Abdin Faruk, Central Juba Dal president Saiful Alam, former South District BNP president Zafrul Islam Chowdhury, Chittagong Metropolitan BNP member secretary Abul Hashem and others.
