Corona restrictions effective from today

The new government-imposed restrictions on the spread of coronavirus across the country will take effect on Thursday (January 13th). Emphasis has been placed on compliance with hygienic regulations. Earlier, a notification was issued by the Cabinet Division on Monday evening.

The notification said that inter-ministerial meeting to review outbreak of new variant Omicron and infection situation of covid-19 in the country, considering the socio-economic condition of the country, keeping the economic activities active and the overall situation, the following restrictions have been imposed on the overall activities and movement from January 13 until further notice.

The 11 restrictions are highlighted below

1. It is compulsory for all to wear masks in all public places including shops, shopping malls and markets, buyers and sellers and hotels and restaurants. Otherwise he will have to face legal punishment.

2. Masks must be used outside the office and court. Mobile courts should be set up across the country to prevent deviations in compliance with hygiene rules.

3. One must have a Covid vaccination Certificate to sit in a restaurant and stay at a residential hotel.

4. No student above 12 years of age will be allowed to enter the educational institution after the date fixed by the Ministry of Education without vaccination Certificate.

5. The number of screenings in land ports, seaports, airports should be increased. Crews should be banned from coming out of the ship. On land ports only drivers can come with trucks coming from outside the country. No assistant can come. Visitors accompanying foreigners must stop entering the airport.

6. Trains, buses and launches can carry half the capacity of passengers. The concerned authorities will issue specific instructions in this regard along with the date of implementation. Drivers and assistants of all types of vehicles must have a certificate of Covid-19 vaccination. (Train-bus will carry half passengers from January 15, launch date is not yet known).

7. Compulsory Covid 19 vaccine Certificate and Rapid Antigen Testing is required for all passengers, including those arriving from abroad.

8. Imams will warn the people concerned about the observance of hygiene rules and wearing of masks in the sermons of Jumma prayers in all the mosques of the country. Deputy Commissioner and Upazila Nirbahi Officers will confirm this matter.

9. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will take necessary publicity and initiatives to expedite public Covid vaccination and booster doses.

10. All social, political and religious ceremonies or gatherings in open spaces should be closed until further notice as the incidence of covid infection is increasing.

11. In case of any special situation in any area, the local administration will be able to take action in consultation with the concerned.

 It is to be mentioned that in the last 24 hours, 4 people have died of coronavirus in the whole country. At this time 2 thousand 916 people have been newly identified.
