Lock on SUST provost's room

The agitating students have locked the rooms of Begum Sirajunnesa Chowdhury Student Hall Provost Committee of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). They locked the rooms of some members of the provost committee on Friday (January 14) evening. The students have given a 24-hour ultimatum for the resignation of the provost committee, to protest against the abuse and arbitrary behavior of the provost Zafarin Ahmed.

It is learned that Begum Sirajunnesa Chowdhury broke the previous lock of the provost's room of the student hall and sealed it with a new lock. At present, Provost Zafrin Ahmed Liza is on leave due to illness and Jobeda Konak Khan, Associate Professor of the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, has been appointed as the Provost.

Meanwhile, the three-point demands of the students include resignation of the provost committee, immediate removal of all mismanagement of the hall, appointment of student-friendly provost committee including ensuring normal and healthy environment.

University Vice-Chancellor Farid Uddin Ahmed said a delegation of female students came to us with a written demand. We talked to them. I will solve their food problems, internet problems and hall cleaning staff problems. We have accepted the demands after a good discussion with them. But I don't know why they are still sitting.
