Mild cold wave has started again in Panchagar, the
northernmost district of the country. In a span of four days, the lowest
temperature of 9.4 degree Celsius has been recorded in Tetulia upazila of
Panchagar.
It was recorded at 8am on Saturday (January 15), said
Mohammad Russell Shah, officer-in-charge of the Tetulia Meteorological Office.
Earlier, a mild cold wave was observed in Tetulia from
January 10 to 13. At that time, the minimum temperature in Tetulia fluctuated
from 11.9 degrees Celsius to 14.9 degrees Celsius.
Jitendra Nath Roy, a senior observer at the Tetulia
Meteorological Observatory, said that a mild cold wave has started blowing in
Tetulia again. The temperature has risen a bit due to drizzle in the last 3-4
days. The temperature dropped again as heavy cold winds from the north entered
Tetulia directly. So the feeling of cold is more.
He said that due to dense fog and water vapor on the surface
of the sky, the intensity of the sun could not come to the surface. Due to
this, it is getting colder during the day. The weather in Tetulia may remain
stable for the next few days.
