Ivy's hat trick

Selina Hayat Ivy won the Narayanganj City Corporation election with a margin of nearly 70,000 votes. Private results were obtained from all the 192 centers. Selina Hayat Ivy got 1 lakh 61 thousand 273 votes with the Nauka (Boat) symbol and BNP independent candidate got 92 thousand 181 votes with the Hati (Elephant) symbol.

Earlier, voting began in a festive atmosphere in the morning. Awami League mayoral candidate Selina Hayat Ivy and BNP leader and independent candidate Taimur Alam Khandaker expressed satisfaction over the atmosphere at the polling station in the morning.

“I have spiritual connection with the people of this city,” said Selina Hayat Ivy. They are coming to vote for me. I would urge law enforcement to make it a little easier for voters to cast their ballots. No center should be slow. Everyone should be able to vote quickly.

On the other hand, after casting her vote at Narayanganj Islamia Kamil Madrasa Center at 8.30 am, independent candidate Taimur Alam Khandaker, in response to a question from the journalists, expressed his hope to win by a margin of more than one lakh votes in front of the journalists.

Election Commissioner Mahbub Talukder said that this election is the best election of recent time.

A total of 5 lakh 18 thousand 357 voters in 27 general wards and 9 reserved wards of the city corporation have exercised their voting right in 18 polling stations in this year's election. Of these, 2 lakh 59 thousand 834 are male voters, 2 lakh 57 thousand 519 are female voters and 4 are third gender voters. Voters have voted in the EVM in this election.
