A committee has been formed to investigate the attack on SUST

An eight-member inquiry committee has been formed into the ongoing agitation, students injured in police attacks and emergencies at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology.

This Monday (January 17) morning, the treasurer of the university, Prof. Dr. Anwarul Islam confirmed the information of the formation of the investigation committee.

Dr Anwarul Islam said the committee was formed at an emergency syndicate meeting on Sunday night (January 16). The committee was formed with Prof. Dr. Rashed Talukder, Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences as President and Ishfaqul Hossain, Registrar as Member Secretary. The deans of all the faculties of the university and the president of the teachers' association have been made members of the committee.

Meanwhile, the campus has been abuzz since Monday morning in protest of the police attack on the protesting students and the demand for the resignation of VC Professor Farid Uddin Ahmed. At this time the students announced not to leave the hall. The students are continuing their movement on the university campus till the last news is received.
