Press conference of the Department of Health in the afternoon

Infection with a new type of coronavirus, Omicron, is on the rise in our country, as in other parts of the world. Despite the reduction in corona infections and mortality in Bangladesh after the introduction of Covid vaccines and hygiene regulations, the current situation has taken a terrible turn which is again putting pressure on our country's health system. In such a situation, the Director General (DG) of the Department of Health, Prof. Dr. Abul Bashar Mohammad (ABM) Khurshid Alam called a press conference.

The press conference will be held on Monday (January 17) at 3:30 pm. The director general of the department will give detailed information about the current corona infection situation and what to do, including the preparation of the hospital in the press conference.

Compared to the previous year, the rate of corona identification in the country has increased by 222 percent in the last week. At the same time, the death toll in Corona rose 61 percent.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, 8 more people have died due to corona infection. With this, the number of deaths in Corona has increased to 28,144 people in the country. At the same time, another 5,222 new corona patients have been identified. As a result, the number of corona patients identified in the country has increased to 16 lakh 17 thousand 711 people.

Earlier on Saturday (January 15), 7 people died of Coronavirus. 3,447 people were identified with the virus.
