Cold wave raging in 5 districts

The cold wave is sweeping over five districts of the country, which may continue for another day or two. Meteorologist Mohammad Abdul Hamid Mia said on Monday (January 17th) that the extension of the sub-continental high pressure zone is located in West Bengal and adjoining areas.

In this situation, the weather will be dry across the country till Tuesday evening (January 18) with temporary partly cloudy sky. Light to moderate fog can fall anywhere in the country from midnight to morning.

Mild cold wave is prevailing in Dinajpur, Kurigram, Panchagarh, Chuadanga and Moulvibazar districts. In some places it may be soothing. Night and day temperatures will rise slightly across the country. The wind speed from north / north-west direction in Dhaka will be 5-10 kmph at this time. The weather may change slightly by Thursday (January 20).

Today, the highest temperature recorded in the country is 30.2 degrees Celsius in Teknaf and the lowest temperature recorded was at Tentulia at 6.8 degrees Celsius. The highest and lowest temperatures recorded in Dhaka were 24.4 degrees Celsius and 14.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
