Deputy Commissioners should play role in preventing corruption at field level: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that deputy commissioners should play a role in preventing corruption at the field level.

The Prime Minister said this while joining a video conference from Ganabhaban at the inaugural function of the Deputy Commissioners' Conference at 10 am on Tuesday (January 18).

Addressing the Deputy Commissioners, the Prime Minister said, "You Deputy Commissioners work at the field level and the responsibility of each district is yours." We are giving top priority to the massive rural development work we have undertaken to alleviate the poverty of the rural population and make them self-reliant. Because in order to build a poverty-free Bangladesh, we have to improve the living standards of the grassroots people.

He said, "I have been able to develop the country by being in power for 13 consecutive years." In the last 13 years, Bangladesh has improved in all social indicators. I am working to implement Vision 2021 and the next goal is to implement vision 2041. If the development projects are implemented, the growth of the country will increase further.

She added that the poverty rate in the country has decreased. The people of the country will not be poor and homeless. The government is committed to building efficient and service-oriented administration.

The Prime Minister said the DC should be instructed to comply with the restrictions to prevent Omicron. Besides, everyone has to follow the hygiene rules to prevent Omicron.
