Dinajpur has been in the grip of cold wave since the
beginning of Magh. Apart from Dinajpur, the mild cold wave is prevailing in
several areas including Panchagarh and Kurigram. Due to the dense fog with freezing
wind, the vehicles are moving with their headlights on even during the day.
The district recorded lowest temperature of 9.7 degrees
Celsius at 6 am on Wednesday (January 19). At that time, the humidity was 99
percent and the speed was 8 to 10 kilometers per hour.
Officer-in-Charge Tofazzal Hossain of Dinajpur
Meteorological Office said that the country's minimum temperature was recorded
at 9.7 degrees Celsius in Dinajpur at 8 am today. The onset of winter will
continue for several days. However, the winter is being felt more due to extra
fog and cool winds from the Himalayas coming from the north-western region. It
is likely to rain again in Dinajpur in the last week of January.
