Anti-drug operation in the capital, 61 arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 61 people for selling and consuming drugs in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital.

They were detained during raids in different police stations of the capital from 6 am on Tuesday to 6 am on Wednesday (January 19).

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department Hafiz Al Asad confirmed the matter.

Hafiz al-Assad said 9,588 pieces of yaba, 135 grams of heroin, 4 kg 615 grams of cannabis, 245 bottles of Phensedyl and 10 liters of domestic liquor were seized from them. In the name of the accused, 47 cases have been filed in the DMP police station under the Narcotics Control Act.
