16th session of Parliament resuming today

This session started on 16th January. After a five-day adjournment, the 16th and first session of the current year Parliament will resume on Sunday (January 23) at 11 am.

As per the constitution, President Mohammad Abdul Hamid addressed the parliament as the first session of the year. On 17 January, Chief Whip Nur-e-Alam Chowdhury raised a proposal of thanks for the speech. Government party member Samsul Haque Tuku supported the proposal.

That day the discussion began on the proposal of thanks for the speech. On the first day, several MPs including two state ministers took part in the discussion. At the end of the day's discussion, the Speaker adjourned the sitting till 11 am on Sunday 23 January. After adjournment, the session is sitting again today as usual.
