Domestic entrepreneurs will be able to invest abroad

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that domestic entrepreneurs will be able to invest abroad in fertilizer production.

The Prime Minister gave instructions in this regard at a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) on Tuesday (January 25). Planning Minister MA Mannan said this at a press conference after the meeting.

The ECNEC meeting approved 10 projects at a cost of Taka 4,621.34 crore. The Prime Minister and ECNEC Chairperson Sheikh Hasina approved the projects at the NEC conference room of the Ministry of Planning in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.

The planning minister said today's projects include government funding of Tk 3,055.21 crore and foreign aid of Tk 1,566.13 crore.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, Agriculture Minister Mohammad Abdur Razzak; Local Government Minister Mohammad Tajul Islam; Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun; Health Minister Zahid Malek; State Minister for Planning Dr. Shamsul Alam. Besides, concerned ministers and state ministers participated in the meeting.

Cabinet Secretary, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, Chief Coordinator of SDG; Members of the Planning Commission, secretaries of the concerned ministries and senior officials also participated.
