Cocktail blast in Senbagh, 35 ballot papers rigged

In the sixth phase of UP elections, 35 ballot papers were recovered from Isfaqul Haque Manna Alim Madrasa Center during voting in Nabipur Union of Senbagh Upazila of Noakhali. At this time, chase-counter chase with cocktail explosion took place outside. Later, law enforcers came to the spot to control the situation and 35 ballots already found sealed were canceled.

Voting started at 8am on Monday (January 31) and will continue uninterrupted until 4pm.

Voters come to every center from dawn, ignoring the winter. Voter turnout was noticeable at every polling station. However, the presence of women voters is most noticeable.

In Nabipur Union, 6 candidates are contesting for the post of chairman, 44 for general members and 13 for reserved women members. The total number of voters in the union is 22,958, of which 11,848 are male and 11,111 are female voters.
