1287 Rohingyas have reached Hatiyar Bhasanchar

Another 1,287 Rohingyas have arrived on the island from Cox's Bazar in the tenth phase under the Rohingya Rehabilitation Project in Bhasanchar, Noakhali. With this, the total number of Rohingya citizens in Bhasanchar Asrayan center stood at 20,949.

The Rohingyas have reached Bhasanchar on Monday (January 31) at around 1pm with the naval ships 'Banauja Tuna' and 'Banauja Sandhip'. Additional Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (Deputy Secretary) Moazzem Hossain, who is in charge of the Bhasanchar Rohingya camp, confirmed the arrival of Rohingyas in Bhasanchar.

Moazzem Hossain said that after unloading 1287 Rohingyas from the ship, the navy platoon was taken to the adjacent helipad. From there it is taken by car to the designated cluster.

Moazzem Hossain further said that 65 Rohingyas have come from Cox's Bazar to visit and 81 people who went to Cox's Bazar from Bhasanchar have also returned on the same ship.
