Anti-drug operation in the capital, 85 arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Crime and Intelligence Division has arrested 85 people on charges of selling and consuming drugs in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital.

The Department of Media and Public Relations confirmed that the operation was conducted from Monday (January 31) morning to Tuesday (February 1) morning.

According to the DMP, they were arrested in different police stations in the capital as part of the DMP's regular anti-drug drive.

During the arrest, 16,359 pieces of yaba, 153 grams of 110 puria (small packet) heroin, 78 kg 200 grams of cannabis, 15 liters of domestic liquor and 93 bottles of phensedyl were seized from them.

It has also been informed that 53 cases have been filed against the arrested under the Narcotics Control Act in the concerned police station.
