Janaza of Pir Habibur Rahman held at National Press Club

The second janaza of Pir Habibur Rahman, senior journalist executive and editor of Bangladesh Pratidin, was held at the National Press Club.

The janaza was held on Sunday (February 6) at 12:58 pm at the tennis ground of the National Press Club. Editors of various media outlets, senior journalists, journalist leaders, political leaders and their colleagues took part in the janaza.

Earlier, his body was brought to the National Press Club at 12:45 pm. After the janaza, journalists at all levels paid their last respects to his departed soul.

Earlier, the body of Pir Habib was laid to rest at the central Shaheed Minar around 11:30 pm. There, Awami League, BNP, Jatiya Party, Nagarik Oikya, various political parties including Jasad, Gonoswasthya Kendra, his classmates from Rajshahi University, Rajshahi University Alumni Association, Bangladesh Pratidin and family members paid their last homage to him.

His body was kept at the central Shaheed Minar till 12 noon. Later it was taken to the National Press Club. After Janaza, the body of Pir Habibur Rahman will be taken to Dhaka Reporters' Unity from Press Club. Then his body will be taken to the Bangladesh Pratidin office at 3 pm today.

Earlier on Saturday, his first janaza was held at Sector 4 Park Jame Mosque in Uttara.

It is to be mentioned that, senior journalist and columnist Pir Habibur Rahman died at Labaid Hospital in the capital on Saturday (February 5) at 4:08 pm.
