Dhaka University's 'D' unit is not being cancelled

Dhaka University eventually backed away from their decision. At a special meeting of the Deans Committee on Wednesday (February 16), they unanimously withdrew from the decision to cancel the admission test of the 'D' unit of the Faculty of Social Sciences for the 2021-22 academic year.

Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Dr. Zia Rahman confirmed the matter.

He said there was a meeting of the Deans sub-committee yesterday. There I voted to keep the ‘D’ unit. In today's meeting of the committee, considering all the issues, it has been unanimously decided to keep the 'D' unit in the current 2021-22 session. It will be finalized at the general admission committee meeting in the afternoon.

He said it would be decided in the future whether the unit would exist or what process would be followed.

The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman and was attended by Vice-Chancellor (Education) Prof. Dr. ASM Maksud Kamal and Deans of various faculties and directors of the institute.
