The High Court on February 7 issued a notice to freeze the
bank accounts of Evaly’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Mohammad Rassel, and his wife company chairman Shamima Nasrin, and their
relatives.
The High Court bench of Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam
Sarkar passed the order after hearing a petition filed by the court-appointed
Evaly's board of directors.
On that day, the court issued the notice seeking
explanations as to why the concerned authorities should not be directed to freeze
all the bank accounts in two weeks.
In this context, the family of Russell applied to transfer
the company's shares in the name of his father-in-law and mother-in-law.
The court allowed the transfer of 50 percent of Evaly's
shares to three members of Russell's family. They are Russell's father-in-law
Rafiqul Alam Talukder, mother-in-law Farida Talukder and Brother-in-law Mamunur
Rashid.
The High Court also directed the court-appointed Board of
Directors of the controversial e-commerce company Evaly Limited to extend all
kinds of cooperation.
Russell's father-in-law and mother-in-law appeared before
the court on Tuesday (February 15). They told the court they have been working
to rehabilitate Evaly. They want to take steps to return money and products to
those who will get these from Evaly.
The High Court bench of Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam
Sarkar passed the order on Thursday (February 18th). Earlier, a hearing was
held in this regard on Tuesday (February 15).
The order paves the way for the resumption of Evaly. The
people concerned thought that the customers of Evaly are going to get good
news.
