Anti-drug operation in the capital, 62 arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 62 people for selling and consuming drugs in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital.

They were detained during raids in different police stations in the capital from 6 am on Friday (February 18) to 6 am on Saturday. During the raid, 10,648 pieces of yaba, 266 grams of heroin, 56 kg 320 grams 50 puria (small packets) of pure cannabis, 25 bottles of 360 ml Phensedyl and 12 narcotic injections were seized from them.

Confirming the matter, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department Hafiz Al Asad said 47 cases have been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act at the DMP police station.
