'Unity is the main strength of Awami League'

Awami League General Secretary, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that conspiracies are being hatched against the development of Sheikh Hasina at home and abroad and urged everyone to be vigilant. The unity of the Awami League is the main strength of the Awami League.

He said this while joining the triennial conference of Pabna district Awami League on Saturday (December 19) morning.

Obaidul Quader called upon the leaders and workers of all levels of the party to prepare for the forthcoming national elections and said that no one can defeat the Awami League unless they defeat themselves. So everyone has to be united. If Awami League is united, then no political opponent of Bangladesh will be able to stop the victory of Awami League. We have to move forward with new challenges in the next elections, to make the party more modern and strong.

"The party will be weakened if we make the opportunist leader by excluding the apostates," he said, urging them not to make the bad guys leaders.

Referring to the hard-working workers as the lifeblood of the party, Obaidul Quader said that the opportunist cannot be given shelter.

Pabna District Awami League Acting President Mohammad Rezaul Rahim Lal presided over the conference. Also present at the conference were Awami League presidium members Abdur Rahman, Khairuzzaman Liton and Joint General Secretary Dr. Hasan Mahmud, organizational Secretary SM Kamal Hossain, Health and Population Secretary Dr. Rokeya Sultana and other central leaders and local MPs.
