76.7 million people got two dose vaccines: Department of Health

Since the beginning of the vaccination program to prevent coronavirus infection, 7 crore 67 lakh 50 thousand 335 people have been given two dose of Covid vaccine. And 10 crore 25 lakh 3 thousand 628 people have come under the first dose. Besides, 31 lakh 3 thousand 64 people have received booster dose so far.

In all, a total of 18 crore 23 lakh 57 thousand 27 doses of vaccine have been given in the country so far. Among them are vaccines from Oxford-Astrageneca, Synoform, Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson.

The information is known from a press release regarding corona vaccination sent from the Department of Health.

According to the notification, 21 lakh 11 thousand 278 doses of vaccine have been given across the country on Saturday (February 19). Of these, 7 lakh 49 thousand 462 people have been given first dose and 12 lakh 64 thousand 459 people have been given second dose and booster dose has been given to 97 thousand 357 people.

Vaccination activities for 12-17-year-old students started in Bangladesh from last 1st November. According to the department, 74,105 students have received the first dose of vaccine in the last one day in the country. And 6 lakh 83 thousand 21 people got the second dose of vaccine. So far, 1 crore 47 lakh 61 thousand 411 students have received the first dose of the vaccine. 90 lakh 72 thousand 343 people got the second dose vaccine.

Meanwhile, 28,190 floating populations in the country have so far come under the first dose of the vaccine. However, none of them have received the second or booster dose vaccine so far.

Registration for the Covid vaccine began on January 27 last year. Vaccination activities started from 7th February. Anyone over the age of 18 can now get vaccinated.

Dr. Shamsul Haque, director of immunization program at the health department, said a large-scale immunization program would be launched in the country on February 26. The first dose will be given to more than one crore people on that day. However, we will discontinue the first dose vaccination program after 26 February. Then we will only continue the activities of second dose and booster dose.

From now on everyone will be able to go to any center next to the house to get the vaccine, said the officials. We will also give you a card as soon as you come to get the vaccine, which will act as a vaccine certificate.
