Dhaka Bar Association election is in its 2nd day of voting.

The second day of voting of the 2022-2023 Executive Committee of the Dhaka Bar Association has started with great enthusiasm.

Voting started at 9 am on Thursday and will continue till 5 pm. There will be a break of one hour in between. Then the vote counting will start. Results will be announced at the end of the count. 

Earlier, 4,577 voters cast their votes on the first day of the two-day election on Wednesday. In this election 19,847 voters will exercise their voting right. 

The Awami League-backed Bangabandhu Awami Bar Council is contesting in the white panel and the BNP-Jamaat-backed Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya Panel (JAOP) is contesting in the blue panel.

Advocate Mahbubur Rahman is the candidate for the post of president and Md. Firozur Rahman (Montu) for the post of Genral secretary in the white panel. On the other hand, the blue panel presidential candidate is Khorshed Mia Alam and General Secretary candidate Syed Nazrul Islam.

Candidates for other positions on the white panel are - Senior Vice President candidate Delwar Hossain Patwari, AKM Shafiqul Islam (Swapan) as Vice President, Mohammad Noor Hossain as Treasurer, Md.  Imanur Rahman as Senior General Secretary, Mohammad Abu Saeed Siddique (Tipu) as Assistant General Secretary, Iffat Jahan (Roni) as Library Secretary, Taslima Yasmin (Dipa) as Cultural Secretary, Mohammad Arkan Mia as Office Secretary, Mohammad Moniruzzaman Khan (Monir) as Sports Secretary and Pradeep Chandra Sarkar as Social Welfare Secretary.

Candidates for the post of member of this panel are- Abu Sufian, Golam Imam Hossain, Imtiaz Mahmud (Prince), Md. Abul Bashar, Md. Jahangir Alam (Zahid), Mohammad Mohiuddin Chowdhury (Sharif), Md. Rakibul Islam (Rakib), Samiul Islam (Prince), Sanjay Kumar Karmakar, Sharmin Sultana Tumpa and Sultana Rosario.

On the other hand, among the candidates in the blue panel are: Md.  Abdur Razzak for the post of senior vice president, vice president Md. Shahiduzzaman, Treasurer Abdur Rashid Mollah, Senior Joint Secretary Zahirul Hasan (Mukul), Mohammad Anisuzzaman (Anis) as Assistant General Secretary, Rafiqul Islam as Library Secretary, Nurjahan Begum Beauty as Cultural Secretary, Md. Anwarul Islam, Mst. Nargis Parvin Mukti for the post of sports secretary, Mosharraf Hossain Mollah as Social Welfare Secretary.

Member candidates for the panel are Faridul Hasan (Tushar), Faisal Kabir (Sourav), Mahfuzur Rahman (Ilyas), Anwar Hossain, Mashiur Rahman (Manik), Mozahidul Islam, Sohail Uddin Rana, Mukta Begum, Mozammel Haque, Rezaul Haque Riaz. And Rubina Akhter (Ruba).

Besides, Shahidullah is contesting for the post of general secretary and Monirul Islam Akash is contesting for the post of sports secretary as independent candidates.

19,847 voters will vote in the election of Dhaka Bar Association.
