10 kg gold seized in Dhaka airport

90 pieces of gold bars weighting about 10 kg were recovered from a plane at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital. The market value of the gold is about Tk 7 crore.

A team of customs detectives and investigation department seized the gold from a flight of Bangladesh Biman from Dubai On Thursday morning.

Customs Detective Assistant Revenue Officer Shafiqul Islam confirmed the matter and said details would be revealed later.

Meanwhile, customs intelligence sources said that customs detectives recovered 90 pieces of gold bars worth about Tk 7 crore from a flight of Bangladesh Biman returning to Dubai from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the morning. They weighted 10 kg.
