The Awami League-backed white panel in the election of the
Dhaka Bar Association (BAR) 2022-2023 Executive Committee has won an utmost victory. Out of 23 posts, the white panel has won 17 posts including president
and general secretary. On the other hand, the blue panel supported by
BNP-Jamaat has won only 6 posts including two editorials.

Judge Abdullah Abu announced the results after counting the votes shortly after
9:15 am on Saturday (February 26).
Mahbubur Rahman has been elected president and Mohammad
Firozur Rahman Montu general secretary of the Awami League-backed white panel. The
other candidates for the elected white panel are: Delwar Hossain Patwari for
the post of Senior Vice President, AKM Shafiqul Islam for the post of Vice
President, Mohammad Nur Hossain for the post of Treasurer, Mohammad Imanur
Rahman for the post of Senior General Secretary, Mohammad Abu Saeed Siddiqui as
General Secretary, Taslima Yasmin as Cultural Secretary, Mohammad Arkan Mia as
Office Secretary and Mohammad Moniruzzaman Khan as Sports Secretary. Besides,
candidates Abu Sufian, Imtiaz Mahmud, Golam Imam Hossain, Mohammad Rakibul
Islam, Mohammad Abul Bashar, Mohammad Samiul Islam and Mohammad Jahangir Alam
were elected as members.
Meanwhile, in the blue panel, Mohammad Rafiqul Islam was
elected as the library secretary, Mosharraf Hossain Mollah as the social
welfare secretary, Faisal Kabir, Mohammad Mashiur Rahman, Faridul Hasan and
Mohammad Mozahidul Islam as members.
Earlier, polling was held on Wednesday and Thursday. 11
thousand 462 lawyers voted in it.
