No need for lockdown: State Minister for Public Administration

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said there would be no need for lockdown in the country, emphasis will be given on vaccination activities and wearing masks. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's foresight has surpassed many countries in the world in stockpiling a sufficient amount of vaccines, which many countries in the world have failed to do. Not only that, besides the free vaccination program, the present government has set a precedent of corona test and treatment. Corona infections have dropped below 5 percent and there will be no need to impose strict restrictions or lockdown in future.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain said this while inspecting mass vaccination at Mehrpur Stadium on Saturday (February 26) at noon.

The state minister said ordinary people have to wear masks. If you do not wear a mask, the corona infection may increase again. Only masks can reduce corona infections as well as protect people from various lung diseases. Apart from coronavirus, people will also be protected from other viruses if they wear masks. So people should be made interested in wearing masks without lockdown.

Earlier, when the minister reached the district circuit house around 11:30 am on Saturday, a team of police gave him a guard of honor. Later, he visited mass vaccination activities in the stadium ground of the city.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Munsur Alam Khan, Civil Surgeon Jawaharul Anam Siddiqui, Meherpur Sadar Hospital caretaker Rafiqul Islam and other political leaders were present on the occasion.
