Anti-drug operation in the capital, 54 arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 54 people for selling and consuming drugs in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital. They were detained during raids in different police stations in the capital from 6 am on Sunday (February 27) to 6 am on Monday.

The matter has been confirmed by Hafiz Al Asad, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Department.

Hafiz al-Assad said that during the seizure, 3,065 pieces of yaba, 44 grams of heroin, 22 kg, 895 grams, 62 puria (small packet) of cannabis, 4 injections, 29 bottles of phensedyl and 60 grams of ice were seized from them. 42 cases have been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act at DMP police station.
