Anti-drug operation in the capital, 54 arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 54 people in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital Dhaka. At the time, 16,532 pieces of yaba, 140 puria (small packet) heroin, 7 kg 975 grams of cannabis and 50 bottles of phensedyl were seized from them.

The operation was carried out in different police stations of the capital from 6 am on Tuesday (March 1) to 6 am today (Wednesday, March 2).

A total of 43 cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
