So far, 21 crore 79 lakh 46 thousand 906 doses of vaccine
have been given across the country under the nationwide vaccination program to
prevent corona infection.
This information was revealed in a press release signed by
Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Director and Line Director, Management Information
Branch (MIS) of the Department of Health.
According to the notification, 12 crore 56 lakh 96 thousand
216 people have received the first dose of vaccine in the country till now. The
number of recipients of the second dose is eight crore 8 lakh 95 thousand 353
people. Among those who took the first and second dose, 44 lakh 55 thousand 367
people got booster dose vaccine.
According to the department, in the last 24 hours (March 8),
another 6 lakh 80 thousand 336 people have been vaccinated across the country. Of
these, 1 lakh 7 thousand 495 people took the first dose, 4 lakh 84 thousand 607
people took the second dose and 88 thousand 234 people took the booster dose.
Vaccination activities for 12-17 year-old students started
in Bangladesh from1st November last year (2021). According to the department, 1
crore 70 lakh 61 thousand 342 students have so far received the first dose of
vaccine in the country. And the second dose has been given to 1 crore 36 lakh
47 thousand 799 students.
Meanwhile, 1 lakh 89 thousand 154 floating population of the
country have been vaccinated so far. They have been given a single dose of
Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
