Huge amount of soybean oil recovered in capital

Police have recovered a large quantity of illegally stored soybean oil from Mohammadpur area in the capital.

Mohammadpur Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdul Latif confirmed the information on Friday night.

He said that after the recent rise in soybean oil prices, bunch of unscrupulous traders were selling at higher prices, showing a more artificial crisis. When the issue started to be criticized across the country, the law enforcement agencies from the higher echelons of the government were asked to look into the matter.

The OC also said that Deputy Commissioner of Police of Tejgaon Division Biplob Kumar would give details at a press conference at his government office on Saturday.
