Anti-Drug drive in the capital, 55 arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 55 people in anti-drug operations in different areas of the capital.

They were arrested on charges of selling and consuming drugs from 6 am on Sunday to the same time on Monday. 

Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department Hafiz Al Asad confirmed the information to media.

He said 1,708 pieces of yaba, 152.5 grams of 54 pieces of pure heroin, 4 kg 200 grams of cannabis, 5 bottles of domestic liquor and 53 bottles of phencidyl were seized from them.

39 cases have been filed against the accused under the Narcotics Control Act at DMP police station. The police official also said that the anti-drug campaign of DMP will continue.
