PM directs NBR to reduce taxes on consumer goods

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the National Board of Revenue (NBR) to impose minimum tax on import of all consumer goods including oil. The directive was given to the NBR at a cabinet meeting on Monday (March 14).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina presided over the meeting by virtually joining from Ganobhaban.

The cabinet secretary said a total of four laws, including the Evidence Act, Supreme Court judges' leave, abandoned property and zakat fund management law, were approved in at the meeting.
