President and PM lays wreath at mausoleum of Bangabandhu

On the occasion of the 102nd birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, President Mohammad Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina laid flowers at his mausoleum at Tungipara in Gopalganj.

Today, on Thursday (March 17) at around 11:30 am, first the President and then the Prime Minister paid their respects with flowers at the altar of the mausoleum.

They stood in silence for a while at that time. In honor of the Father of the Nation, the bugle was played with melancholic tune and a guard of honor was given.

Earlier, the Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina paid homage to the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the historic Bangabandhu Bhaban premises at Dhanmondi 32 at 8.30 am.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs has taken a comprehensive program across the country. The theme of this year's National Children's Day-2022 is ‘Promise of Bangabandhu’s birthday, all children's equal rights'.

Besides, the Awami League is holding a detailed program on the occasion of Father of the Nation's birth anniversary and National Children's Day.
