Heat wave likely to continue few more days

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Sunday predicted that a mild heat wave sweeping over many regions is likely to continue. 

"Mild Heat Wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions and the districts of Rangamati, Chandpur, Feni, Sylhet, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Nilphamari and Patuakhali and it may continue," said a Met Office release issued this morning. 

The Met Office forecasted that dry weather is likely to continue over the country. 

Meanwhile, day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, the release added. 

As an outlook for next 72 hours, the BMD predicted: "The Depression is likely to intensify further." 

The country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 38.5 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi and the minimum temperature today was recorded 17.3 degrees Celsius at Srimangal of Sylhet District. 

The sun sets at 6:10 pm today and rises at 6:02 am tomorrow in the capital.
