Mirza Fakhrul calls EC dialogue useless

Criticizing the ongoing EC dialogue, BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, "No matter how much the Election Commission (EC) conducts dialogue, it will not work."

He told reporters after visiting the grave of Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Tuesday (March 22) at 11:30 am on the occasion of the 34th founding anniversary of Zia Parishad.

In response to a question from reporters, the BNP secretary general said the Zia Parishad would work for the establishment of democracy against the undemocratic government of the country.

He said the number of absences in the dialogue with the EC shows that people have no interest in this dialogue. The BNP has no interest in any dialogue of this Election Commission (EC).

He further said that without a neutral caretaker government, the Election Commission (EC) would not be able to conduct free and fair elections. No matter how much they talk, it will not work. The only demand of the BNP is a neutral caretaker government during the elections.
