Undefeated Bangladesh set foot in 52. Our beloved
motherland. Sonar Bangla of life. The rise of Bangladesh was a wonder of the
world. The father of the nation dreamed of an independent sovereign Bangladesh
in 1947. In the Baker Hostel. He sacrificed his life for freedom. Woke up the
people of the country. He accepted all oppression, including imprisonment and
torture with a smile. The father of the nation himself is like the reflection
of Bangladesh. The persecution of him and the exploitation and deprivation of
Pakistanis by Bengalis are tied in the same thread. Bangabandhu has moved
forward on the path of building Bangladesh from a specific political plan. In
1966, many considered the six points to be unrealistic political aspirations.
No one but the people was on his side. Even many big leaders of his favorite
organization Awami League did not have the support in six points. But
Bangabandhu sang the song of awakening with the youth. Presenting the image of
discrimination, he threw the question in front of the Pakistanis - why Sonar
Bangla crematorium? He taught the people of Bangladesh to dream. He ran from
one end to the other to show that there is no alternative to freedom. When
Bangabandhu was arrested in the Agartala case, scholars saw the end of Sheikh
Mujib. Most of the leaders of the Awami League counted the veil of Awami League
politics. When Sheikh Mujib was released on parole and invited to the round
table. Even then almost all the leaders of Awami League wanted to walk the path
of compromise. But Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatun Nesha Mujib alone stood as a wall
of resistance against compromise. Sheikh Mujib became Bangabandhu because of
her perseverance and inflexibility. Bangabandhu flew the flag of independence
through the mass uprising of '69. With his political prudence and foresight, he
can be seen as the best politician of all time in history. He did not become a
separatist. With his landslide victory in the elections of '70, he told the
Pakistani junta what he wanted, what the people of Bengal wanted. Then the
Pakistanis' procrastination and refusal to hand over power made the people of
Bangladesh stand on the brink of liberation. On March 25, 1971, the invading
forces of Pakistan carried out the most brutal massacre on the unarmed
Bengalis. They thought that by indiscriminate killing, rape and arson perhaps
the Bengali nation could be silenced forever. But the Pakistani giants did not
consider Sheikh Mujib's hypnotic political power. Bangabandhu prepared his war
strategy from the moment of his unprecedented victory in the elections of ’70.
Bangabandhu outlined how to fight, get India's cooperation and outline people's
war. In his speech on March 7, he presented the basic vision of Bangabandhu's
war strategy to the nation. He called upon the people to form 'Sangram
Parishad' under the leadership of Awami League in every village and mahalla and
get ready with whatever they had. In this speech, Bangabandhu further requested
to build forts in every house. You have to deal with the enemy with whatever
you have, he said. Mainly, after the election of '70, the whole of Bangladesh
came under the rule of Bangabandhu. And that is why the peasants, laborers,
workers, students, young people, wearing lungi-towels, stopped one of the best
armed forces in the world. The Father of the Nation gifted an independent state
to the Bengali nation. This freedom is bought with a lot of blood. In 1947, how
many thought that Bangladesh would take its place on the world map as an
independent sovereign state? After March 25, how many scholars understood that
on 16th December, Damal children of the nation will liberate Mujib's Bengal? The
two largest superpowers in the world, the United States and China were against
Bangladesh. So what? The Bengali nation has snatched independence by making a
lot of sacrifices. The father of the nation has won. The Bengali nation has
won. The Father of the Nation has given us identity, territory, flag.
The dream of the father of the nation had two parts. The
first part was the rise of the state of Bangladesh. The dream of the father of
the nation had two parts. The first part was the rise of the state of
Bangladesh. The second part was a dignified, self-reliant, non-discriminatory,
non-communal happy nation. A self-reliant Bangladesh. Until '75, the Father of
the Nation was working to build such a state. But the defeated forces of '71
started a new conspiracy after independence. Its final form was on August 15,
1975. Bangladesh lost its way after that most horrible incident in history. The
black clouds of despair and failure filled the sky of Bengal. Bangladesh became
known in the world as a dreamless, impoverished, beggar state. Henry Kissinger's
'bottomless basket' seems to be the destiny of Bangladesh. Hunger, famine,
poverty seems to be the destination of Bangladesh. Democracy and human rights
were crushed under the boots and the dictatorial monsters were playing a
vicious game of making Bangladesh Pakistan again. A hopeless, directionless
Bangladesh.
From there, the story of Bangladesh turning around also
defeats the fairy tale. And the hero of the fairy tale is Sheikh Hasina. Just
as Sheikh Mujib has gradually become the father of the nation from Bangabandhu,
so too Sheikh Hasina has gradually become a statesman from a public leader.
From statesman to world leader. The father of the nation is the architect of
Bangladesh. He painted the image of Bangladesh. And Sheikh Hasina is the master
builder of building the Bangladesh of the dream of the father of the nation. Sheikh
Hasina has Bangabandhu's dreams in her heart. She has worked to implement that
dream. And that’s why Bangladesh is a wonder of the world today. Role model of
development. Bangladesh is making irresistible progress. This has been possible
due to the tireless work and extraordinary leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
Fortunately for Bangladesh, this 52-year-old country has got
two outstanding leaders. Recognized as one of the best leaders in the world in
their time. Bangladesh has been holding the hands of two leaders since its
independence. Creating a state requires a leader who is ahead of his time. Who
sees the future before his eyes. Whom the people trust, respect and love. We
have got freedom under the leadership of such a leader. His name is Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman. In the same way, a nation needs a leader in its development,
progress and advancement. That leader shows people dreams. He realizes the
dream. Who is brave and self-confident. Whom people trust, love and respect. One
such leader is Sheikh Hasina. No need to go too far. The difference between the
Bangladesh of 2008 and today's Bangladesh shows how Sheikh Hasina has made the
impossible possible. How a self-respecting nation has been built. But Sheikh
Hasina's war is not over yet. In ’71 the Father of the Nation was victorious.
This victory was against various adversities and conspiracies outside the
house. Even after independence, the conspiracy of anti-independence forces
continued. All the possible attempts were made to tarnish the three-and-a-half-year
rule of Bangabandhu. From lies to murders, cowardly incidents of arson - all mischievous
have been made. Everything from the heinous activities of the masses and the
proletariat to the fire in the jute warehouse has been part of the conspiracy. These
were not anti Awami League government impropriety. These were actually part of
a conspiracy to destroy Bangladesh.
Today, when Bangladesh is moving forward, I am looking at
that old conspiracy anew. The anti-independence forces are playing that old
game again. Even after so much achievement, so much attainment someone is
spreading a sigh of despair in the air of Bengal. First, the political
opponents wanted to destabilize the country through looting and arson. Second,
the murderous Mushtaqs, who were lurking inside the Awami League, wanted to
make the government controversial and questionable in certain activities. Third,
the civil-controlled masses were spreading lies against the Bangabandhu
government. Fourth, a deep conspiracy was hatched against Bangabandhu in the
international arena. The events of August 15, 1975 were the result of this
four-pronged approach. Today we see the same four-pronged conspiracy in
Bangladesh. The country's opposition political parties are not on the path of
democratic movement. They are not even
walking on the road to election. Instead, the opposition parties are desperate
to debate the democratic process and institutions. They have hired lobbyists to
protest against the government. The spread of lies has spread through social
media. Militant, extremist political parties are being incited for sabotage. Incidents
like the Hefazat riots on March 26 last year and the attack on the Puja Mandap
are just like the replicas of '72 to '75. The second part of the conspiracy is
within the Awami League. Today, the Awami League is restless due to the sudden
oppression of the Awami League. Some ministers-mayors spoke as if they came
from an alien planet. Their irresponsible, incoherent talk has become a cause
of public annoyance. They seem to be desperate to tarnish all the achievements
of the government. Apparently, they may seem incompetent. But if we analyze a
little deeper, it can be easily understood that they are like Mushtaq. There is
no shortage of their efforts to make the government unpopular. In some places,
actions are being taken against these fake newly Awami League, but in most
cases, they are becoming the cause of ruin. In the third part are our most
revered civilized people. Their heart aches in the achievement and progress of
Bangladesh. Increase in per capita income, increase in average life expectancy,
relief in the economy, none of these are seen by them. Their eyes are stuck on
how long the TCB line is and who went there. Our civil servants are so worried
about the disappearance that they can't sleep. In the words of the civil
servants, it seems that disappearance is the main problem of the country. When
Sheikh Hasina spread 100% electricity all over the country, the so called
gentlemen of this country did not show any courtesy to thank her. But before,
when there was load shedding for hours, there was no lack of complain from
them. When all the homeless people are being given houses, there is no
excitement. But when one or two houses are broken, they are filled with joy. There
are many such examples. Our civil society, interested in the pursuit of
disappointment and failure, has returned to the same form. And the
international community is in the fourth part of the conspiracy. Those who want
to see Bangladesh on its knees as beggars. Why Bangladesh is happy? Why the
festival of development in Bangladesh? Bangladesh is now seriously feeling the jealousy
of the big countries. They are very unhappy about why Bangladesh is not
kneeling in front of them. And the expression of this anger is seen
occasionally. Questioning the human rights situation in a country that has
sheltered one million Rohingya year after year is an extreme irony. Conspiracies
like '75 are encircling Bangladesh from all sides. Many are worried. Many are
apprehensive. But on this day of independence, one thing comes to my mind again
and again, Bangladesh of '75 and today's Bangladesh is not the same. Sheikh
Hasina has done a very skillful job, which is to awaken the inner strength of
the Bengalis. Now people dream of touching the sky. They want to develop themselves.
Sheikh Hasina has taken herself to a unique height as a single leader. Sheikh
Hasina is our greatest achievement in post-75 Bangladesh. The government has mistaken,
it has failed. Some people are complaining about being in power for a long
time. There is also arrogance. But there is Sheikh Hasina in contrast. A human
being. Who always thinks of the welfare of the people. Sheikh Hasina's worst
enemy in Bangladesh also knows that there is no alternative of Sheikh Hasina at
the moment. Bangladesh is safe in his hands as long as she lives. By overthrowing
the conspiracy and the power of the grassroots the father of the nation has
flown the victory flag. Those who wanted to erase his name have been thrown
into the trash of history. Even after 51 years of independence, Sheikh Mujib is
immortal, bright and radiant. He is the victorious hero. Similarly, Sheikh
Hasina will also not lose. By thwarting these conspiracies, she will take
Bangladesh to the destination of Bangabandhu’s dreams.
