AR Rahman to Rock the country on Tuesday

In celebration of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, AR Rahman, the world known superstar will rock the country with hundreds of co-artists. The Oscar-winning artist will take the stage at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday (March 29) to spread the melody. Famous artists of the country will also perform in this concert organized by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

AR Rahman means something different. Wherever he has set foot in the world, the insanity of the spectators has been seen everywhere. His insane popularity in Dhaka is nothing new. The superstar has been seen in various cricket festivals in Mirpur before. He is also the centrepiece of this year's event. In the meantime, BCB has completed almost all the preparations. The stage has been built over a large part of the stadium. Seating for tens of thousands of visitors in front of the stage. Tickets are being sold in three categories.

The year-long celebration of Mujib's centenary is nearing its end. Almost all the government and non-government organizations of the country have decorated the birth centenary of Bangabandhu with various arrangements. The BCB's plan was also quite stylish. A cricket match between World XI and Asia XI was planned but due to Covid pandemic the plan was cancelled. However, the last minute concert plan with AR Rahman is going to be implemented.

The BCB has named the event 'Cricket Celebrate Mujib 100'. Which will be held on Tuesday (March 29) at 5.45 p.m. The formality will start with the national anthem. Those who have tickets will be able to enter the field from 3 pm.

10,000 spectators will be able to enjoy the live concert sitting on the main ground of the stadium. Tickets are being sold in three categories. The minimum price has been set at Tk 1,000. Apart from this, you can get Gold at Tk 5,000 and Platinum category tickets at Tk 10,000.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, is scheduled to appear at the venue at 7 pm. Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina's passion and feeling towards cricket is always at the top. The Prime Minister has enjoyed many matches of the national cricket team sitting on the field. She is often seen participating in various events including BCB concerts. This time too there is no exception.

According to the schedule, popular band Miles will perform in the first slot of the show at 6 pm. After that, popular musician Mumtaz, the queen of Bengali music, will appear on the stage. AR Rahman will take the stage in the second slot of the five-hour long concert. He will rock the stage from 8pm to 11pm.

The concert is sponsored by Bashundhara Group, a leading industrial group in the country. The entire program will be broadcast live on the private satellite channel News 24.
