Anti-drug operation in the capital, 37 arrested

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 37 people in an anti-drug operation in the capital. The DMP said they were arrested for selling and consuming drugs.

They were detained during raids in different police stations in the capital from 6am on Wednesday (March 30) and 6am on Thursday (March 31).

Hafiz Al Asad, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of the DMP's media and public relations department, said 1,554 pieces of yaba, 80 grams of 111 puria heroin, 54 kg 445 grams of cannabis and 60 bottles of phensedyl were seized from them.

He said 27 cases have been filed against the arrested accused under the Narcotics Control Act at the DMP police station.
