A Dhaka court deferred the verdict against 11 people
including 'Casino Brothers' - Enamul Haque Bhuiyan alias Enu and Rupon Bhuiyan
- to April 25 in a case filed over laundering Tk 2 crore.
The verdict against 11 people including 'Casino Brothers' -
Enamul Haque Bhuiyan alias Enu and Rupon Bhuiyan - will be announced on
Wednesday in a case filed over laundering Tk 2 crore.
Acting Judge Monir Kamal of the Special Judge Court-5 of
Dhaka set the new date on Wednesday.
Today was set to deliver the verdict. As Judge Mohammad
Iqbal Hossain of the Special Judge Court-5 of Dhaka was on leave due to his
illness, acting judge of the court set the new dated.
Earlier on March 16, the court set April 6 to hand down the
verdict in the case after closing arguments.
The other accused in the case are Shahidul Haque Bhuiyan,
Rashidul Haque Bhuiyan, Merajul Haque Bhuiyan, Joy Gopal Sarkar, Pavel Rahman,
Tuhin Munshi, Abul Kalam Azad, Nabir Hossain Sikder and Saiful Islam.
Among the accused, Shiplu, Rashidul, Sahidul and Pavel have
been absconding while Tuhin is out on bail. The other six accused are in
jail.
On July 26 of 2020, CID Inspector Sadek Ali, also the
investigation officer (IO) of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the Chief
Metropolitan Magistrate's Court of Dhaka against the 11 people.
The court framed charges against the accused on May 5 last
year. The court recorded statements of 10 prosecution witnesses, including
complainant of the case.
