A fire broke out in a residential building in the capital's
Mirpur. Three fire service units were dispatched to the scene on Wednesday
(April 6) at 5:12 p.m. The fire was brought under control at 5:50 p.m. with the
efforts of five fire service units.
Shahjahan Sikder, Officer-in-Charge (Media) of the Fire
Service Headquarters, said a total of five units were dispatched to the spot
after a fire broke out in a six-storey residential building in Mirpur-1 area.
The fire was brought under control after half an hour.
The fire started on the ground floor and later spread to
other floors of the building. Initially, the official could not give an idea
about the cause of the fire and the amount of damage. Three people were injured
in the incident and were rescued by the fire service.
