Anti-Drug drive in the capital, 58 arrested

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Crime and Intelligence Division has arrested 58 people in anti-drug operations in different parts of the capital. Police said that they were arrested for being involved in drug use and trafficking.

They were arrested after conducting raids in different parts of the capital from 6 am on Wednesday to 6 am on Thursday.

During the operation, 9493 pieces of yaba, 134 kg 100 gm 40 puria cannabis, 150 bottles of phensedyl, 453 puria heroin, 15 liters of domestic liquor and 0.75 grams of ice were seized from them.

A total of 37 cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
