Anti-drug operation in the capital, 63 arrested

The Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 63 people in an anti-drug operation in the capital. They were arrested on charges of using and selling drugs from different police stations in the capital.

They had been arrested in raids in different police stations in the capital from 8am on Saturday to 6am on Sunday, said the DMP's media and public relations department.

According to the DMP, 9421 pieces of yaba, 23 grams of heroin, 19 kg 985 grams of cannabis, 450 bottles of phensedyl and 80 grams of ice were seized from the arrested persons.

A total of 49 cases have been registered against the arrested persons under the Narcotics Control Act.
