Railway running staffs call off strike

The strike called by the running staff of the railway due to various demands has been called off. Railway workers withdrew their protest from Kamalapur railway station around 12:30 pm on Wednesday (April 13).

Earlier, Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan and Secretary Humayun Kabir visited the Kamalapur railway station and spoke to them.

Saidur Rahman, joint-secretary of the Railway Running Staff and Workers' Association, said, "Since the Railway Minister has accepted our demand, I am returning to my workplace." All of you who are in the movement, go back to your respective workplaces.

The Railway Running Staff Employees Unity Council suspended train services across the country from Wednesday morning, demanding cancellation of the Finance Ministry's notification by canceling the pre-determined mileage or allowance.
